Born in Maia, Emanuel immigrated to the United States in 1966. After finishing school he went to work in the Real Estate industry and has owned his own company since 1985. Emanuel purchased a home in Maia a few years back and enjoys traveling back and forth a few times per year. |
| Natalia Botelho Moniz Natalia loves to reminisce about the old days . She has a gift for storytelling and makes you feel that you actually lived the event she is describing. When Natalia and her husband close their home for the season her infectious laughter is missed by all her neighbors. |
After attending Suffolk University Alvaro went into the insurance industry. He now spends his leisure time traveling back and forth to Maia with his wife and children. |
Aurelia came to the U.S. when she was 16 years old. She is the oldest of 9 children of Andre and Maria do Carmo. Aurelia currently resides in Seabrook, NH surrounded by her 3 children and 5 grandchildren. |
Margaret came to the U.S. when she was six years old. Margaret has worked in the Portuguese community and has devoted her professional life with a focus on the education of immigrants and their families. Margaret is mother to three grown children, Nicholas, Phillip and Alexandra. |

| Helena Serpa Emmett Helena came to the U.S. via Ellis Island when she was 6 years old. She taught in the Somerville Public Schools for 9 years. Afterwards, Helena became a Dunkin’ Donuts franchise owner for over 25 years. She currently resides in Albany, NY with her husband, Dave and son Alex. |
